Transport

Historically the transport side of the business was set up to cater for the internal needs of the group, having grown steadily it is now a stand alone part of the company that offers a plant haulage service to its customers nationwide. Operating from the head office Nr Bristol the division now run three “VOLVO F16” tractor units, two 7.5t single axle lorries and a dedicated tyre handling unit for its large earthmoving machine operations. With extendable step frame trailers using 3 & 4 axle configurations, with a capacity of 46 & 55 tonnes respectively plant can be moved quickly and effectively to its destination. With today’s ever increasing machine transport weights KELSTON SPARKES has recently taken delivery of a 5 axle low loader trailer with a carrying capacity of 150 tonnes, this allows large and abnormal items of plant to be moved safely and effectively within transport restrictions. Utilising our own fully trained and skilled HGV operators and when required offering escort services we can carry out all types of machinery haulage, either as a full or part load, or return load service.
